St David Street Lecture Theatre

The University of Otago is New Zealand’s first university and a vibrant international centre of learning. It was established in 1869 by Scottish settlers with a strong conviction in the transforming power of education. The St David Lecture Theatre complex, a new multimedia facility with several lecture theatres and conference rooms is located in the heart of the University Campus, opposite the Centre for Innovation and only a stone throw from the famous Clocktower.

Accommodation Booking Information

Please note: Due to the Elton John concert on Friday evening you may experience difficulty in securing accommodation. We recommend you book early.
Accommodation for the delegates has been secured at the hotels above. Special conference rates have been negotiated. In order to secure your accommodation at these hotels and rates, all bookings must be made through Tangerine Events Ltd on your registration form. The hotel will not accept bookings directly.

Accommodation bookings must be guaranteed with credit card, and you must supply your credit card details with your booking. No payment will be deducted prior to your check out time.

Cancellations

Should you cancel your accommodation booking with less than 30 days notice, the hotel may charge you a penalty. This could be for one night’s accommodation or for your total accommodation cost. This is at the discretion of each hotel. Please see cancellation policies above for each hotel. In the event of a "no-show" or cancellation to a booked room on the day of arrival there will be a full accommodation charge from the hotel.
Bookings for accommodation will be secured on a first come first serve basis. The deadline for accommodation bookings is Friday, 21st October 2011. Tangerine Events will not be able to make your accommodation booking after this date.

Please note: Although special rates have been negotiated for this conference, Tangerine Events takes no responsibility if a hotel or motel offers a “special” at any time which may be a cheaper rate compared to the conference rates mentioned above.

Travel and Transfers

Air New Zealand flies to Dunedin from most centres in New Zealand. Jetstar is introducing flights from Auckland to Dunedin from July.  We recommend you book your airline tickets early to secure the cheaper discounted rates.

Dunedin Taxi’s is our recommended Taxi Company. If you pre-book your taxi and mention that you are attending the “Gastroenterology Conference” you will be able to have a fixed price fare from Dunedin Airport to your central city hotel or St David Street Lecture theatre. Cost $68.50

An Airport Shuttle Service is also available. If there is a group of you arriving at Dunedin Airport at the same time, we recommend you book an Airport Shuttle. $20.00 per person. This rate will reduce per person depending on the numbers travelling.
